About the wine
Our 2009 Generations Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon offers seducing aromas of blackberry and ripe bing cherry that evolve into notes of all spice and mocha. Black raspberries, nutmeg and plum flavors coat the palate of this complex, balanced wine and lead to a long, lingering finish. Enjoy the 2009 Generations now with a brief decant or cellar the wine for up to 10-12 years beyond the release date for added bottle complexity and flavor development.
Generations is a tribute to the Raymond family’s five generations of winemaking in the Napa Valley. This limited production wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and the winery’s ultimate expression of this varietal. Grapes were fermented on the skins for 25-30 days to capture the “juicy” fruit before being moved to new, tight-grained, medium and medium plus toast French oak barrels for 18-20 months of aging before final blending. Only our best barrels from forests in Nevers, Allier, and the Center of France were selected for this blend of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
