About the wine
Aromas of bittersweet chocolate, roasted herbs, raspberry, and dark pepper drift from the glass. Bold flavors of fresh blackberry and dark plum are balanced by hints of cocoa, cinnamon, and cassis on the complex palate. Soft tannins and balanced acidity lead to a lengthy and powerful finish.
The grapes were hand-harvested in the early morning hours of October 23rd before going through extended maceration with the fruit on skins for 51 days. After native fermentation, the wine was gently pressed, racked and aged for 19 months in 42% new Taransaud French oak barrels. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered on July 8, 2021.
