About the wine
The grapes in this blend were grown Biodynamically and organically to create a truly harmonious expression of our estate. The 1 ½ Acre opens with boastful aromas of blackberry and blueberry enhanced by a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, this wine is dense yet balanced with finely integrated tannins and rich flavors of boysenberry, tea leaves and a touch of allspice. The finish is long and luscious.
2019 was our fifth harvest of our meter by meter planting at Raymond Vineyards. Our estate is planted to all five varietals of a classic Bordeaux blend and designed to be the truest expression of terroir from our certified organic and Biodynamic® vineyard. Harvested on October 14, a fruit day in accordance with the Biodynamic calendar, the grapes were in their optimal state for the wine to realize its full potential.
This vintage contains all five planted varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. The organic grapes were co-fermented together and underwent an extended maceration for 62 days before aging in 30% new French oak barrels for 19 months.
