About the wine
Lush aromas of dark cherry, ripe red plum, and brambly blackberry draw you into this bold, fruit-driven wine. The palate is layered with intense flavors of juicy blueberry and blackcurrant, accented by subtle notes of roasted coffee and warm allspice that add depth to its rich, textured profile. Balanced with smooth, graceful tannins, this inviting wine delivers a seamless finish that is both bold and lasting.
Our Small Lot Collection Petite Sirah grapes are from our Biodynamic and organically grown Estate vineyards in Rutherford. Our Raymond and Ticen vineyards are located on gravelly over clay soils. The Petite Sirah does well on the clay soils and helps keep the vines cooler to minimize shriveling. The Petite Verdot is also from another grower within Rutherford and seamlessly blends the Petite Sirah together, which adds balance to the tannins. Harvested between September 13 and 16, the wine then spent 23 days on skin and was aged for 18 months in 3% new Taransaud French oak barrels before bottling unfined and unfiltered on a root day.
