About the wine
Bright and expressive, this wine opens with lifted aromas of white peach, crisp pear, and Meyer lemon, layered with hints of honeysuckle and wet stone. The palate is vibrant and finely textured, offering flavors of green apple, citrus zest, and subtle orchard fruit, supported by a refreshing line of acidity that reflects the vineyard’s cool nighttime conditions. A gentle roundness from time in neutral oak adds depth without overshadowing the wine’s natural energy. The finish is clean and persistent, with a delicate mineral note and a touch of floral elegance that lingers.
The grapes for this Chenin Blanc were harvested on September 18 from a single vineyard in Rutherford, located in the heart of the valley near the Napa River. Planted on Pleasanton Loam soils—naturally stratified from historic river deposits—the site benefits from a moderating river influence that brings cooler nights, helping to preserve acidity and encourage slow, even ripening while maintaining the varietal’s inherent freshness. Fermentation was carried out in an equal blend of stainless steel barrels and neutral French oak, utilizing a combination of two yeast strains to build aromatic complexity and texture. The wine was then aged for six months in the same vessels before being blended and bottled on April 2, 2026.
